Franchises
Franchise codes are special 8-digit SIC codes for the business types that operate under franchise licensing. They are specialized versions of SIC codes. Selecting both SIC and Franchise codes does not duplicate records. If you omit SIC codes, make sure that you are not omitting a Franchise code that you want to include in the search.
1 On the Business Type tab, click Franchises.
2 In the text boxes provided, enter 8-digit Franchise codes. If you do not know them, use Lookup.
To clear the text boxes of all entries, click Clear All.
1 On the Franchises page, click Look Up.
2 Enter full or partial Franchise code, or industry name and click Search.
3 Select the Franchise codes you want to include in the count by selecting the appropriate boxes.
4 Click Add Selected Codes.
To clear the text boxes of all entries, click Clear All.
Use the Omit feature to exclude one or several Franchise codes from your search. Note that if you have not made any Franchise code selection and choose to omit certain Franchise codes, the system will assume you want to include all Franchise codes except those specified in the omissions table.
1 On the Franchises page, click Omit.
2 On the Franchises Omit page, specify Franchise codes you want to exclude from the search. If you do not know them, use Lookup. For more information, see Franchise Codes Lookup.
To clear the text boxes of all entries, click Clear All.
